Dear readers

As a contemporary music label and collective of artists, it is important we do our part in supporting climate and environmental justice, racial justice, equality and change.

This page is dedicated to the various causes we stand for and support.

We invite you to contribute and join the discussion of how we can make positive change.

Sea-Watch

In 2016 we collaborated with the French artist JR on the short film Ellis, memorialising through JR's photographic prints those who came through Ellis Island. Directed by JR it tells the story of one such migrant, played by Robert De Niro, as the film winds its way through the crumbling hallways of the abandoned Ellis Island hospital complex, now home to JR’s Unframed art installation. Entwined with the narrative of Ellis is a score composed by Woodkid, performed and co-written by Nils Frahm. The score was released on Erased Tapes in July 2016, the same week as America’s great federal holiday.

As this piece was created as an echo to the immigration situation in Europe, it was decided that all proceeds are to be donated to Sea-Watch e.V. for the protection and rescue of civilian refugees in the Mediterranean Sea.

Friends of the Earth

In 2010, British post rock band Codes In The Clouds released Paper Canyon Recycled, a remix album which includes reworks by label peers Nils Frahm and Rival Consoles, among many other friends, with all their proceeds going to Friends of the Earth, a network of environmental organisations.
