David Allred and Peter Broderick share a beautiful a cappella performance of The Ways, taken from their acclaimed collaborative album Find the Ways.
Shot on the banks of Lough Corrib in Ireland, the video is released ahead of their European tour starting in Munich tonight. Talking about the track, Broderick said: “When David first showed me ‘The Ways’, it felt like a song that was so pertinent to the current times, and at the same time like an ancient song that has been around forever. I suppose the message is timeless. I love singing this song with David.”
Armed with nothing but their voices, Allred and Broderick mesmerise with their raw, moving and sincere delivery of the song, a poignant reminder of how the simplicity of a purely vocal performance can be incredibly emotive.
“The Ways is about acknowledging the differences between all people whilst embracing it as a window into each other’s worlds rather than a disconnect” Allred adds. “I absolutely love being able to share these words with Peter using nothing more than our voices.”
Peter Broderick joins David Allred on his European tour this February in support of his own recently released debut album The Transition. The album is a stunning follow up to Find The Ways, written while Allred worked in a residential care home in his small hometown outside of Sacramento - a time during which he saw the face of mortality every day.
